Prelude
Filip, Frank, and I invited Pom to join us for a weekend off road riding after sharing some great rides with him around Mae Hong Son and Tak. We wanted to treat him — covering his travel expenses — and give him a chance to experience something outside of his usual riding area.
Here is a short video of the ride before our mini adventure
Two ride reports below up north.
Craig joined us for the weekend, and on Monday we set off for a different kind of ride around Kanchanaburi, exploring the sights and sticking to back roads whenever we could.

Then ride the dirt road around 30 KM to the 323 before Thong Pha Phum.
Lots of mud further up and a diversion as digging things up.

Pilok

At the Thailand–Myanmar border, where the gas pipeline crosses.
For the first time ever, the Myanmar flag is not flying here or at the nearby boundary post. This is currently the last point along the Thai–Myanmar border still under control of the Myanmar military. All other border posts have been taken over by the KNU, KNLA, and allied groups.

Sangkhalaburi
I like coming here for the weekend — even better if it’s a long one — to enjoy the ride and take in the local vibes.

That’s a wrap! Great trip overall — just one rainy morning on the way up to Pilok. One other afternoon had some rain too, but we were just relaxing in Sangkhlaburi anyway, as you do.
Cheers
