Hellfire Pass, Death Railway – Kanchanaburi

Hellfire Pass is the name of the railway cutting on the former Burma railway (Death Railway) in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Built using forced labour during the Second World War. In part by Allied Prisoners of war, as well as local and regional slave labour. The pass is noted for the harsh conditions, heavy loss of life suffered by labourers during construction.
